special SEVEN

My sweet baby boy turned 7 this summer while we were on our YL assignment at Southwind! We were able to leave camp for a little while and take him to the movies. Then we came back for cake and fun around camp. A summer staff friend gave him a piggy back ride around camp. One of the lifeguards had campers surprise him by singing happy birthday at the snack bar. He also got to make his own snow wizard! And who else can say they played volleyball in major rain puddles on their birthday?!

Seven things I love about you Boone:
1. Your big brown eyes. I think I’ve said this before but you have the most awesome eyes that are full of life and full of joy and happiness.
2. Your sense of humor. You love to make people laugh. You might even be a “program guy” on YL staff some day. Or a Disney Prince at Disney World…I can sooooo see this happening.
3. How much you love books and going to the library. You have always enjoyed looking through books, going to the library and being very intentional about what you choose. You love to be read to at night and you are the best listener when we read chapter books together.
4. Boone you are a great little brother and big brother. Although you and Wyatt can have challenging days, we pray you will always find in each other a best friend. And the way you love Josie is priceless, there is no doubt you care deeply for her.
5. Thank you for loving tomatoes and cooked broccoli.
6. Your affection. I love that you like to be snuggled and that sometimes at night you just need Mama or Daddy to lay down with you to help you feel safe while you go to sleep. You still love to hold our hands and just the other day you told me that when me and Daddy get old you were going to take care of us. {Heart=melting}
7. Boone your sweet spirit. You love Jesus. You love people. We pray that God would show us how to foster that sweet spirit in you and that you would always trust in Him when it feels like this world wants to squash it. May your spirit always find it’s identity in our God.
