just a few more from the beach
We left early Tuesday morning. We were going to try and leave at 4:30 but since we went to bed at midnight we slept an extra 30 minutes. We got the boys in the car, in their pj’s, and were on the road at 5:15. We thought maybe they would go to sleep…not so much. But it was fine. Wyatt was so excited that we were leaving while it was still dark. He called it a night time adventure. When we got Boone in the car he was so excited to see everyone and kept saying hi, hi, hi.
The nice thing about leaving so early was that we were able to spend a little time on the beach that day. It was like getting an extra day of sunshine.
The third day we were there it was super super windy and overcast. We took the boys down to the beach anyway. The bandana kept Wyatt’s hair from being crazy, as he would put it. Not to mention he looked cute with it on.
Andy and Wyatt found sand crab holes and Wyatt wanted him to dig to find one. So Andy dug and dug and found a crab! Don’t worry, we set him free. But the rest of the week that’s all Wyatt wanted to do.
Boone was not sure what to think of the sand on his feet and the first day or two it bothered him in the beginning. That didn’t last long. He would throw sand, sit in the sand, put his face in the sand {which freaked me out b/c it would be all over him and I worried about it getting in his eyes}, and even ate snacks in the sand {with sand on the snacks}. :)
You couldn’t keep these boys out of the water. I barely stuck my feet in and that was it. The weather was perfect, but the water c-o-l-d. Did it bother them? Not at all. I’m thankful to have the world’s greatest Dad who would get in the water with these boys and not think twice about it. And if he did, he never complained. What a guy.
