Here they are. A bumble bee and a pirate. Looking for something in the grass. Then the bumble bee gets chased by the pirate. Then a picture with Mom.

Followed by more chasing. Looking at the thing found in the ground. A pirate trying to do a somersault. Then stillness. Only for a millisecond.

On to Trunk or Treat at Grandmother and Granddaddy’s church. Pictures with Ryan. Wyatt looks thrilled. Sweet Hayden sucking her thumb. Granddaddy and the bee. Hayden and her daddy, my brother. And finally a semi-smile picture with Ryan after a bag of candy…note the box of candy in hand.

My parents church always does this on the Wednesday night before Halloween. We’ve made it into a little tradition. My brother and his family come and then after the trunk or treat the church does a hotdog roast.

It’s a fun chance for Wyatt to get dressed up more than once…and get more candy…that I end up hiding and then eating.

Then Saturday night, at the very last minute, we got the boys dressed up and went trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. We were not planning on this because we had spent the day moving things in the house and we were so tired. I had not showered nor brushed my teeth, nor had an ounce of make-up on {I at least like to have mascara on}.  It was drizzling but we thought let’s take a break and do something fun for our kiddos. So in the rain..we went trick-or-treating. The fun thing about it was getting more candy for me was that we got to meet some of our new neighbors! And now we know that our neighborhood is the neighborhood to go trick-or-treating. :)
