Number 6.....Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary Babe!

We have spent 4 out of 6 anniversaries at Young Life camps. 3 of those have been in Colorado and 1 in Georgia. This will be our second anniversary to be at home. It's a little different this time around because we have our 2 week old baby to celebrate with us. What a sweet and perfect gift.

I will never forget celebrating our 1-year anniversary in Pagosa Springs, CO. We were on our first YL assignment together as a married couple. It was not a typical assignment though. We were finishing up the third session of camp and actually "closing" down camp... Snow Wolf Lodge. We had kids the first week and the last week, the middle week there were no campers but everyone stayed busy by cleaning and packing up camp. We were surprised by a sweet gift from our friends Roman and Myrna to stay the night at a bed and breakfast in town. Wow! We were just blown away, such an unexpected gift.

There is not alot in Pagosa Springs, at least not 6 years ago, so we ended up playing putt putt golf and many rounds of ping-pong! The next day we went to the hot springs! It was like a little spa/resort. You basically sat in these really hot "hot tubs" that smelled like rotten eggs...it was so relaxing and so much fun!

It's fun to reflect on old memories and look forward to the ones we will make together. I am so grateful for you, Andy, and for the way God crossed our paths in 1994 at Bearden High School. Thank you for the father you are to our two boys and for the husband you are to me. Happy Anniversary Babe.

And here's another memory maker......to mark our 6 year anniversary.

This is the oven mitt that we have just thrown away. We have used this oven mitt for 6 years, Andy had it before we got married, so he has used it longer. It was his favorite oven mitt and quickly became mine too. Even though we have like 2 or 3 other oven mitts, this is the one we always used. Yesterday morning Andy cooked the best breakfast: biscuits, gravy, bacon and what I like to call "dirty eggs". The oven mitt, as you can see by the picture, has fallen apart so we decided to retire it on a good note...a delicious breakfast. Goodbye yellow flowery oven mitt, you have been so helpful in removing hot meals from the oven for the 6 years we have been married. I hope we can break in a new oven mitt that was just as comfortable as you.
